This week Marcella Rodriguez interviews Dèsa Daniel, a PhD student at the University of New Mexico studying counselor education and mental health topics. Dèsa has received many accolades surrounding her research which primarily focuses on racial and ethnic college students, primarily those of Black and African American women. Dèsa also facilitates a growing online community @blackacademic where she shares her life as a doctoral student, professor, weightlifter and dog mom.
